Our NICU ministry is our primary purpose that occurs all year around. We make NICU survival kits for families currently staying in the NICU at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. We have made several donations and hope we are able to continue bringing baskets in once a month. It costs approximately $25 to make one basket depending on what's in it. Each group of baskets we've turned in has been different. Our foundation and all who are involved in it pray over these baskets before turning them over to the NICU. We believe God uniquely provides each family with what they need, when they need it most. We pray and believe God gives these doctors and nurses divine discernment when it comes to who gets these baskets and when they receive them. If a family is having a particularly hard day, we pray these kits are a breath of fresh air and hope for them. To learn more about our NICU ministry, click here.
If you would like to donate items for our baskets, here are some things we need:
baskets (big enough to hold 2 water bottles and all the other goodies), notepads, pens, disposable cameras, gift cards to local restraunts/fast food, snacks (peanut butter crackers, peanuts, beef jerky, candy, gum, water bottle mixers), hand lotion, anti bacterial, chap stick, mouth wash, deodorant, Kleenex, wipes, crossword/sodoku books, and our greatest need is inspirational material (cards, ornaments, crosses, bible verses, anything that will give these families a message of hope in Christ). If there is anything that is not on this list that you feel would be a valuable asset to these baskets, please don't hesitate to give those items as well!!
